Fall events in Hampton Roads
Fall is just around the corner which means fun festivals and activities are ahead in Hampton Roads. From wine, art, pumpkin patches and hayrides, there is a ton to explore, see and do this fall in Hampton Roads. Here are a few of our upcoming favorites:
Norfolk Arts District
This annual downtown tradition is free and open to the public and is rooted in bringing the Hampton Roads community together through the arts. Come out and enjoy art exhibitions, local and national performances and mural tours throughout the city.
September 15 from 5:00-10:00 p.m., September 16 from 11:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m.
4137 Portsmouth Blvd, Chesapeake
Come out and experience a taste of Chesapeake! The 26th annual Fun-n-Food Fest will feature fish and chips, pancit, lumpia, burgers, dogs, fries, sausages, funnel cakes and French delicacies. Enjoy games like life-sized Jenga and Connect 4, or join in on the Corn Hole tournament or raffle for $1000! There will be live entertainment all day and the The Rhondells will play at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
24th Street Park, Virginia Beach
This fitness festival includes competitions, lives music, vendors and tons of activities. Come out and join in, or just watch the excitement! Cost is $10 per day or $15 for two days (additional costs for competing). Kids 15 and under are free if they are not competing.

St. Mary's Home 6171 Kempsville Circle, Norfolk
Enjoy live bluegrass music with More Perfect Jones and tasty pulled pork BBQ, smoked beef brisket, pork belly tacos, oysters on the half shell and vegetarian items from Baker’s Crust. Wash it all down with a beer from Tradition Brewing Company and enjoy a game of corn hole, adaptive games, tours of St. Mary’s Home. PLUS—a visit from the Hampton Roads Superhero Squad! Anadult ticket is $45 and includes two adult beverage tickets per person. Youth Tickets are $25 (under 21), family pack $125 includes 2 adults and up to 3 kids.
2nd-36th Streets, Virginia Beach
Come out for the AMAZING North American Sand Sculpting Championship, Volleyball competition, an Art & Crafts Show, Neptune’s Grand Parade, as well as music, food, and fireworks. Costs vary for individual activities.

The Peanut Festival itself doesn't kick off until October 5th but you can get in the Peanut-Spirit on Saturday, September 30th with the Peanut Festival Parade! The parade stages in the Lakeside neighborhood and proceeds down Washington Street, turning left onto North Main Street and concludes at Finney Avenue.
September 30-October 31, Saturdays and Sundays 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
2388 London Bridge Road, Virginia Beach
This is an exciting fair featuring Virginia Beach’s largest pumpkin patch, hay rides, pony rides, inflatables and other fun fall activities and carnival games.
October 5-8, 2017
Suffolk Executive Airport, 1410 Airport Road, Suffolk VA
Suffolk Peanut Fest offers concerts, amusement rides, shrimp feast, contests and competitions, a demolition derby, a mud jam, motorcycle rally, fireworks and much more. TONS of family activities including Cornhole, KnockerBALL, Rockin A Ranch Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, The Rad Hatter, Gooberland Family Area & more. Costs vary, starting at $10 per person, early bird admission $7.75 until October 1.

33 Waterside Drive, Town Point Park, Norfolk
Hampton Roads’ most exciting family festival is filled with more than 100 fun, creative and interactive activities that include storytelling, hands-on workshops, educational displays,cultural experiences, arts and crafts, military demonstrations, costumed characters, and more! This event is designed with children 10 and younger in mind, $5 admission.
Waterside Drive, Norfolk
Experience the Annual Fall Town Point Virginia Wine Festival Presented by AT&T, Hampton Roads' most anticipated Wine Festival of the fall season in Town Point Park along the Downtown Norfolk Waterfront. This fall festival favorite will showcase over 200 of Virginia's finest wine varieties from over 35 Virginia wineries and encapsulate the elegant flavor and flair of the region.
